Electronic Data Acquisition Accurate Instrumentation
Cooling Tower Performance Testing
Fulkerson & Associates, Inc. can provide all of the necessary instrumentation and personnel to conduct a thermal performance cooling tower test in accordance with the CTI ATC-105 or ASME PTC-23 cooling tower testing procedures. We use state-of-the-art electronic data acquisition systems to collect and store the cooling tower test data. All temperatures are measured with precision platinum RTD's calibrated and traceable to NIST. The RTD probes are read once every ten seconds by the data logger and averaged for the test period. The test instruments can be packed in cases which can be taken as baggage on commercial airlines to any location around the world.
Our cooling tower testing usually include an inspection of the cooling tower. If the cooling tower is not performing satisfactorily, we can make suggestions for changes to improve the cooling capacity of the tower. Only with properly conducted cooling tower testing with accurately calibrated instruments can you be certain of the thermal capacity of your cooling tower. For diagnostic cooling tower testing to pinpoint problems in a cooling tower, additional data not required for the CTI or ASME test will be collected.
If the original design data for the cooling tower are not available or are no longer relevant, new design data and performance curves will be generated.
Fulkerson & Associates, Inc. has over 40 years of experience in the design, construction and cooling tower testing. Robert Fulkerson was a member of the CTI committee which produced the CTI-ATC-105 test code. He was also a member of the ASME-PTC-23 committee which developed the ASME test code PTC-23-1986. He is now a member of the ASME-PTC-23 committee which published the PTC 23-2003 test code for performance testing of cooling towers.
