Cooling Tower Inspections

Fulkerson & Associates, Inc. provides a cooling tower inspection service where we inspect the rotating mechanical equipment, the water distribution system and all of the tower internals.  We also inspect the complete structure of the cooling tower.  The cooling tower may be constricted from wood, fiberglass, steel or concrete.  The strength of wood used in cooling towers declines with the long exposure to water at elevated temperatures.  If a wood cooling tower is designed according to CTI codes and standards, the physical properties of the wood such as, the modulus of elasticity and compression strength are adjusted, so the cooling tower will have a life of fifty years.  The cooling tower should be able to withstand operating loads, wind loads, and seismic loads for fifty years.  This would be true if the structure has not been damaged.  The structure, however, can be damaged by such things as biological attack, chemical attack, iron rot or fans running out of balance etc.  Regular thorough cooling tower inspections are necessary to properly maintain cooling towers through their operating life.

Our cooling tower inspection team has many years of experience in cooling tower design, construction, inspections and testing.  We know what to look for, where to look for it, and how to recognize potential problems when they exist.  You need to find biological attack before it spreads throughout the cooling tower to  avoid catastrophic failure or collapse of a cooling tower.
